Hey, new to Destiny. Trying to get the precompiled client working. Got as far as logging in and making an avatar. The game attempts to link me to Relto, but crashes.

I copied the avi/dat/sfx folders from my MOULa install. Trouble is it was recently updated (the one that includes fan content). So I'm guessing there might have been a breaking change (seemingly in that StartupHelpGUI file) that causes the client to crash.

I'm actually not sure where I could get copies of the MOULa files prior to the recent update.

Also, I cannot find the log. (I can find the crash dumps from my other installations) I don't think the plclient.exe is actually saving it anywhere.

Hello, I am also new to Destiny and in need of help. Total noob  . I have not used Destiny before because I dont build for MOULa, but now that Hoikas so kindly provided us with a sample age for puzzle solving, which he suggest 'playing' on Destiny it's time to do this... so I have downloaded the client from the first post in this thread, but then I am lost.

- is it only these three folders that is needed? If I copy these folders into a new folder 'Destiny' and unzip the 'client' into that folder, where should that folder be? In ProgramFiles or outside? Later in this thread there is an explanation on how to create a shortcut so I think I can manage that ;).
But also this issue:

You can extract it wherever you want. Because of Windows being Windows, it might be better to do outside Program Files. Key is to have avi/dat/sfx alongside the files from the precompiled client archive.

I haven't updated the client in a while, so if you run into an issue with running it, I may have to look into an update.

I used the dat, sfx and avi folders from my MOULa installation, unzipped the client into that folder, created a shortcut to the desktop. I could login and create an avatar. But when I clicked the neigborhood linkbook on the shelf nothing happened. The game did not froze, I could move and click again. So something is missing? I do need to get a KI to get to use the KI number for the blender korman settings.
So what can I do?

The link book issue may also be due to an older client. You can try opening the console and use the command "Net.LinkToMyNeighborhoodAge".

Obviously I am missing something or doing something wrong here -
I tried both the key `, and the ~ but nothing happen, no console? I have a swedish keyboard though, where those are mapped to two different keys to the right side of the keyboard, just left of Enter. So I tried the key above the tab key,(on my mac I have an american keyboard so I can see that both ` and ~ are mapped to the key above the tab key) but that is mapped to § and ½ so

I will continue tomorrow, and do a fresh install.
